LEGACY RESHAPED

Nestled within the historical grounds of a 1920s-era Grade III heritage villa—once known as Villa Vienna and now famously called Mannat, the home of Bollywood superstar SHAH RUKH KHAN and his family—this project embraces the legacy of its illustrious owners. With meticulous care, the annex building seamlessly harmonizes with the original bungalow’s architectural language, its design intent clear: to be a modern yet an understated structure that complements, rather than distracts from, the historic villa.

The annex features a clean and austere façade, borrowing materiality from the heritage bungalow itself. Terracotta-hued panels accent the building’s balconies to echo the terracotta roof below; while the white columns subtly reference the classical proportions of the original structure. This deliberate restraint ensures that the villa remains the focal point, preserving its iconic stature.

The architectural complexity of the annex lies in its deceptively simple design. Floating slabs extend from a concealed structural core, maintaining a lightweight, elegant appearance. The annex rises behind the heritage structure, with the first three floors aligning with the villa’s sloped roofline, while the upper floors house private residences. The result is a harmonious blend of old-world charm and contemporary functionality.

Inside, the annex is carefully programmed to accommodate a variety of spaces, from private living quarters to social hubs, standing as a testament to architectural synergy, ensuring that Mannat’s legacy endures while embracing the future.
